Springland Riding Stables Summer Camp Coordinator & Instructor Position

Job Description
· Summer camp coordinator and instructor required for general hunter/jumper horsemanship camp · Runs Monday to Friday 8:30am – 4pm · Camp day involves: 1 lesson, chores, horse theory & games on horseback · Teach group lessons of 3-4 · Must be able to teach all levels of riders with focus on beginners and novices · Develop and present age and level appropriate horse theory topics · Develop and implement fun games on horseback that enhance riding skill · Organize Friday afternoon parents show to demonstrate skills children have acquired at camp · Promote and advertise summer camps · Job commitment: 6 weeks of summer camp + 10 hr per week of camp advertising · Time commitment: Advertising and promoting: May 1st –July 1st – up to 10 hrs per week; July 1st - Aug 31st on non-camp weeks – up to 10 hrs per week; Camp Coordinator and Instructor: July 1st – Sept 2nd – 35-40 hrs per camp week · Pay: 8$ per hour for time spent advertising; $400 per week for camps of 4-6 campers; $450 per week for camps of 7-9 campers; $500 per week for camps of 10-12 campers Job Requirements
Available Wednesday, Thursday & Sunday • Coaching Experience • Current OEF Membership • Current First Aid Certificate • Advanced Riding Experience & Hunter/Jumper show experience preferred • Punctual & Reliable • Must coach in a positive, friendly and fun manner • Positive self image • Good communication skills • Self-motivated • Work experience with children and adults • Work experience with special needs students (both physical and cognitive disorders) preferred • Work experience with young horses preferred • Advertising experience an asset • Knowledgeable about the care of horses & farm activities • Minimum of 18 years old with reliable transportation
